Striving to level the playing field throughout the world of sports
Alliance of Women Coaches
The AWC is dedicated to providing support, resources, and events/programs that address the needs and interests of its female coaches from every sport in every level of competition. The Alliance of Women Coaches serves its members by their Title IX/advocacy work, providing research on the status of gender equality in coaching and sports, giving job search resources, raising funds to support awareness and promotion of gender equity in coaching, as well as giving coaches a platform to spread their concerns.
The Association of Title IX Administrators (ATIXA)
ATIXA is a professional association for school and college Title IX coordinators and administrators who are interested in serving their districts and campuses more effectively. ATIXA does so by bringing campus and district Title IX coordinators and administrators into professional collaboration to explore best practices, share resources, and advance the worthy goal of gender equity in education.
The Association of Women is Sports Media
This association is meant to serve as a watchdog in the advocacy for women in sports media by offering support, mentoring and networking services as well as national visibility.
Champion Women
Champion Women was made to hold educational and athletic institutions accountable for falling short on gender equity issues. They do so by aggressively advocating for equality, accountability, and transparency by these institutions with an underlying philosophy that sports opportunities are vehicles to improve the lives of girls and women.
Coaching Peace
Coaching Peace is a consulting company that focuses on team building and culture building within athletic programs and organizations. They help schools, non-profits, sports teams, and corporations through teaching collaboration and coaching.
Equality League
The Equality League is a new sports-based gender equity organization. Their goal is to advance women’s rights globally by modifying and eliminating institutional and cultural barriers to sport.
Institute for Diversity and Ethics in Sport (TIDES)
TIDES serves as a comprehensive resource for issues related to gender and race in amateur, collegiate and professional sports. The Institute researches and publishes studies including annual analysis of student-athlete graduation rates and racial attitudes in sports, as well as the internationally recognized Racial and Gender Report Card, an assessment of hiring practices in coaching and sport management in professional and college sport. The Institute also monitors some of the critical ethical issues in college and professional sport, including the potential for exploitation of student-athletes, gambling, performance-enhancing drugs and violence in sport.
National Consortium for Academics and Sport (Institute for Sport & Social Justice)
This organization addresses issues of diversity and inclusion, gender violence prevention, critical decision-making skills for student-athletes, and leadership styles for coaches and administrators. Through interactive workshops they engage the audience in scenarios, case studies, role plays, videos, and interactive activities to educate and prevent inequality and violence.
Right to Play
Right to Play tracks the three most critical areas of child development: the quality of their education, their ability to stay healthy, and their potential to help build peaceful communities. Guided by their principles of inclusion, child protection and gender equality, Right to Play provides kids and their communities with the knowledge and skills they need to create sustainable and beneficial change.
Tucker Center for Research for Girls & Women in Sport
The Tucker Center is devoted to sponsoring, promoting, and disseminating scholarly activity on how sport impacts the lives of girls and women. They encourage researchers, policy makers, educators, parents and practitioners to work together to better the lives of girls and women in ways that go far beyond the playing fields.
WISE Women in Sports and Events
WISE empowers women in sports business with the tools to reach their career goals. The Wrestle Like A Girl Empowerment Camps and Clinics are made for girls ages 5-18 who want to learn wrestling and the championship life skills involved with success both inside and outside the sport.
Women’s Sports Foundation
The WSF’s goal is to advance the lives of girls and women through sport and physical activity. The organization’s main efforts are in generating grants for female athletes, giving awards to female athlete role models, and providing research on topics like women’s health, education, social skills, and leadership.
